The memorial to fighters for communism (beginning of the 20th century)

Soviets Square is decorated by this huge memorial to fighters for communism which was erected in 1920 on this square, and in 1970 it was removed to Revolution Square.

This memorial is built by the architect N.A. Kotov’s plan, its foundation is made of stones which were brought by Red Guard soldiers and Partisans whose divisions fought for the city. The monument is visited during thematic excursions of the city’s past.

The monument is put under the state protection in accordance with the resolution №1327 of the RSFSR Council of Ministers on the 30th of August, 1960.
